Here we go with our new logo!

This new visual identity is the outcome of a two-step process designed to ensure both conceptual coherence and community engagement. First, the key elements of the logo were derived through a content analysis of the Divisionโ€™s newly revised Domain Statement, ensuring that the design reflects our core intellectual commitments. Second, after several iterations were developed in collaboration with the Academy of Management headquarter, the final version was selected through a vote by our member base.

The logo brings together four symbolic elements that represent the Divisionโ€™s mission and scholarly orientation:

โžก๏ธ ๐‚๐ฅ๐ข๐จ, ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ, symbolizes the central role of human agency โ€“ both scholars and practitioners โ€“ in shaping, interpreting, and theorizing management history across time.

โžก๏ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐๐จ๐จ๐ค beneath Clio represents the legacy and intellectual heritage of management thought, emphasizing the Divisionโ€™s commitment to tracing the evolution of management ideas and preserving its written traditions.

โžก๏ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก captures the conceptual significance of time, reflecting the Divisionโ€™s focus on historical continuity, temporal dynamics, and the rhythm of change in management practices. It also evokes the Divisionโ€™s scientific rigor and interdisciplinary methodology, referencing both time as an analytical lens (e.g., Taylorโ€™s legacy of scientific management)

โžก๏ธ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐„๐ฅ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐œ ๐‚๐ข๐ซ๐œ๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ symbolizes technological evolution, highlighting how advancements in tools and systems have historically shaped and continue to influence management discourse.

We thank all those who contributed to this process. The result is a logo that both honors our intellectual heritage and reflects the evolving scope of historical inquiry in the field of management.
