Dear Management History Enthusiasts,
The Division is evolving, and your voice is essential. The Executive Team has proposed a series of bylaws amendments designed to modernize our governance, clarify officer roles, and strengthen our commitments to professional conduct, transparency, and awards integrity.
Key highlights of the proposed changes include:
-
Broadening our scope to "management history… broadly defined", reflecting our ongoing scholarly practice.
-
New anti-bullying and conflict-of-interest policies to ensure a safe, fair, and inclusive community.
-
Clearer officer responsibilities (Treasurer/Secretary, Historian, Communications Director).
-
More transparent processes for awards, nominations, and executive governance.
How to participate:
On September 2, Division members received an email titled "Vote to amend MH Bylaws" from mh@aom.org via SurveyMonkey.
If you did not receive it-possibly due to your email preference settings-please contact Michael McShane at mmcshane@aom.org.
Voting is now open and will close on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET. The ballot is a simple YES/NO vote on the full package of amendments.
Your engagement is vital to shaping a stronger, more transparent, and vibrant Division for the future of management history.
With appreciation,
Matteo Cristofaro
