    Hi Leon,

Thank you for welcoming us into the division. My name is Trevor Israelsen. I just completed my second year as a doctoral student in management at the University of Victoria. For me discovering this division was something of an accident. I got a master's degree in 19th century U.S. social history and then started doing research in entrepreneurship theory with some friends from the business school. It was only after I had attended an Academy meeting that I learned that some people do historical research in business schools! So my training has been first in social/cultural history and now in management theory. I'm very keen about this broader integrative project many of you have been writing about of historical organization studies and I think about my own research in entrepreneurship and family business as a mix of historically-grounded theory and (perhaps to a lesser extent) historiography.

In lieu of in person discussions at conferences this year I would love to meet and socialize via technology at any point over the summer. Feel free to reach out at trevorisraelsen@uvic.ca

    Wishing you all the best,
    Trevor Israelsen

    Hi Leon and all,
I'll follow the example of Trevor. My name is Rob Mitchell.  I am a professor at Colorado State University.  My undergraduate degree is in history, political science and psychology.  When I completed my PhD in entrepreneurship and strategy, my research primarily focused on the psychology aspects of this background.  But the more I have engaged in my research, the more I have been pulled back to my interest in history.  I am delighted to be a new member of the Management History Division.  I have met some of you and look forward to meeting many more of you (both virtually and in person).  Thank you again, Leon, for the invitation.
    Best regards,
    Rob

    Hi Trevor,

It is great to "meet" you here online. I believe we met in Boston during the Management History social if my memory is correct. Welcome to the division; it appears you have a solid background to bring to the wonderful field of historical organization studies. I'd love to connect over the summer. Leon and I are working on an initiative to raise the profile of the division so to attract more doctoral students and early career academics (ECAs). Send me a note if you're interested in getting involved. I'd love to chat more.

    Hi Trevor and Rob!

So great to "meet" you here online. I'm thrilled you're a part of the Management History division. If you have some time over the summer I'd love to connect. Leon and I are working on an initiative that will see doctoral students and early career academics become more active within the division. We'd love to hear from you and see if there's a way to work together on this, especially as we look forward to Philadelphia next year.

    All of the best,
    Nick

Thanks, Nick.  I'd love to hear what you and Leon are working on and to contribute if I can.  I'd be happy to connect with you, Leon and Trevor over the summer sometime (as well as others interested in the initiative if it makes sense).  For this year and next, I am a co-chair of the Entrepreneurship Division Early Career Development Consortium.  Perhaps those interested can connect directly to continue the conversation?
