    Dear Management History Division Members,

I am delighted to announce that the Call for Submissions for the Management History (MH) Division for the 84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM) is now available and the system is already open to receive your contributions. Find all the details here: Call for Submissions | MH Scholarly

As the Program Chair for the MH Division, I invite and encourage you to participate actively in the Conference and in our scholarly debate.

    Event Details:

    • Conference Dates: 9-13 August 2024
    • Location: Chicago, IL, USA
    • Submission Deadline: Tuesday, 9 January 2024, at 17:00 ET (GMT-5/UTC-5)

Theme: Innovating for the Future: Policy, Purpose, and Organizations This year's conference theme, "Innovating for the Future: Policy, Purpose, and Organizations," explores the intersection of policy, purpose, and innovation in the face of accelerating technological advancements, such as AI and automation. The conference aims to foster a nuanced understanding of these dynamics to ensure responsible technological integration and equitable outcomes.

Management History's Unique Perspective: Management history plays a crucial role in addressing contemporary challenges. As we navigate the transformative period of the information age, the MH Division provides a platform to draw insights from past responses to technological and societal changes. We invite submissions from scholars and practitioners to contribute to our understanding of historical developments in management, organizations, and business.

Submission Opportunities: We welcome symposium and paper submissions through the Submission Center, which opens early in December. Please visit the Call for Submissions page for detailed information and guidelines.

Awards and Recognition: The MH Division offers several prestigious awards, including the:

    1. John F. Mee Award for Best Contribution to Management History
    2. Journal of Management History Best International Paper Award
    3. SAGE Publishers Award for Best MH Division Paper in Leadership
    4. Ronald B. Shuman Award for Best Graduate Student Paper
    5. MH Division Best Reviewer Award

The MH Division also nominates a best paper on an international subject or theme for the Academy's Carolyn Dexter Award and a best student paper for the William H. Newman Award; consistent with the criteria for those honors. Authors that believe their papers are eligible for any of these awards should self-nominate when submitting to ensure they are included in that selection process.

Call for Reviewers: Active involvement in the peer-review process is crucial for the success of the Scholarly program. We invite you to sign up as a reviewer starting in early December 2023. Your expertise and contributions as a reviewer are vital to ensuring the quality of submissions.
