Dear colleagues,
I am delighted to invite you to join us for the exciting MH Division-Sponsored PDW titled "Unicorns and Other 'Fantastic' New Ventures: Lights and Shadows of Entrepreneurial Evolutions." This workshop promises to be an enlightening exploration of the captivating world of extraordinary new companies that have revolutionized our economies and transformed our lives.
Date: August 4th
Time: 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Boston Marriott Copley Place: Tremont
During this PDW, we will delve into the phenomenon of high-growth start-ups, known as 'unicorns,' 'gazelles,' and even more intriguingly, 'narwhals' and 'dedacorns.' These companies have reshaped the entrepreneurial landscape and sparked discussions about their significance as new organizational forms or as a paradigm shift in entrepreneurial evolution. Our aim is to provide theoretical and methodological insights into investigating this "entrepreneurial zoo," tracing its historical origins, and speculating about its potential future.
Expect thought-provoking discussions and insightful lectures from esteemed speakers who are leading authorities in the field. Our distinguished panel includes Matteo Cristofaro as the Chair, Gianpaolo Abatecola as the Moderator, and renowned speakers Zoltan Acs, Howard E. Aldrich, Alex Coad, Per Davidsson, Suresh Kotha, Patrick J. Murphy, and Martin Ruef.
This PDW presents a unique opportunity for scholars and enthusiasts in management history and entrepreneurship to explore the past, present, and future of entrepreneurial evolutions. We invite you to join us at the Academy of Management Conference 2023 and participate in this engaging event.
Take advantage of this chance to gain valuable insights and engage in stimulating conversations. We look forward to seeing you there!
