Division Chair, Matteo Cristofaro, Univeristy of Rome Tor Vergata.

Matteo Cristofaro is Associate Professor of Management at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” Department of Management and Law. Matteo Cristofaro is Vice-President for Education at IFSAM. Recognized among the “World’s Top 2% Scientists” by Stanford University since 2022, his research focuses on management history, behavioral strategy, managerial decision-making, and organizational adaptation. His work bridges cognitive, affective, and AI-driven perspectives on strategic behavior. His works appeared in the Journal of Management History are among the most cited and most read since its establishment, where he was also awarded the Emerald Literati Award in 2020.

Chair-Elect Diego Coraiola, University of Victoria.

Diego M. Coraiola is a Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, Canada. His research examines collective action and social change using cultural and historical approaches, with a focus on how managers and entrepreneurs deploy symbolic resources to shape organizations, markets, and institutions. His current work addresses memory work, the strategic use of the past, and issues of historical injustice, trauma, and resilience. His research has appeared in leading journals, including the Academy of Management Annals, Strategic Management Journal, and Organization Science. He serves as Associate Editor at the Academy of Management Learning and Education and sits on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Perspectives, Academy of Organizational Collections, and Organization Studies.

Past Chair Jeffrey Muldoon, Southeastern Louisiana University.

Jeffrey Muldoon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Business Administration at Southeastern Louisiana University. With a Ph.D. in Management from Louisiana State University, His scholarly interests focus on entrepreneurship, management history, and organizational behavior. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles in outlets such as Journal of Management History, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Business Research, and Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy. His research has been recognized with multiple awards, including the John F. Mee Award for Best Management History Contribution at the Academy of Management. He served as Chair of the Management of the Management History division and editor in chief of the Journal of Management History. 

Student Representative-at-large, Ellen Shaffner, Mount Saint Vincent University.

Ellen C. Shaffner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She holds a PhD in management from Saint Mary’s University and teaches strategic communication, management, and public relations at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research focuses on integrating intersectionality into historical studies of organizations, with additional interests in the history of management thought and education and the organizational communication practices of Canadian companies. She has been a member of the Management History Division of the Academy of Management since 2018 and currently serves as member-at-large representing student and early career members. She welcomes inquiries from students and early career scholars regarding the division’s activities and support.

Representative-at-large, Luis Antonio Orozco, Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Luis Antonio Orozco is Full Professor at the School of Management, Universidad Externado de Colombia, and President of the Colombian Association for the Advancement of Science. He serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Management History and Cogent Business & Management, and as an editorial board member of Palgrave Debates in Business History. His research focuses on the management of science and technology, social network analysis, scientometrics, and the managerial foundations of industrialization and deindustrialization in 20th-century Colombia. His work on Alejandro López Restrepo, published in the Journal of Management History, was recognized in the preface of the 8th edition of The Evolution of Management Thought. He is Chair of the BALAS doctoral colloquium and the Colombian representative to the ACIEK Academy in Europe.

Treasurer, Jay Janney, University of Dayton.

Historian, Ziyun Fan, University of York.

Ziyun Fan is Associate Professor of Responsible Management at the University of York, UK. Her current research focuses on different types and practices of social value judgment, such as the use of past and secrecy, and their influence on responsible organizing, such as (re)actions to climate change. She employs qualitative and ethnographic approaches to explore both Global North and Global South contexts. Her research has appeared in Academy of Management Perspectives, Human Relations, Organization Studies, and elsewhere.

Communication director, Pier Luigi Giardino, University of Trento.

Pier Luigi Giardino is a PhD candidate at the University of Trento (Italy). His research focuses on strategic leadership, with particular attention to how individual differences, especially personality traits, shape organizational dynamics and outcomes within and beyond the executive board. Since 2023, he has served as Communications Director of the Management History Division at the Academy of Management. During his PhD, he has been a visiting scholar at Imperial College Business School (UK) and at the University of Oklahoma (USA).
